the adjustments are significantly less than inflation which is currently at 5.7%
Typical Telkom response... use the average price increase, including services almost nobody uses. Fast DSL is up 9%, 3.3% above inflation.

I just see that goal of affordable broadband to all South Africans and 100% penetration by 2020 drift far away.

Didn't Telkom say about a month ago their fee's for ADSL wont increase, even though the speed is increasing?

Don't mind paying R13 more mainly because of the 384kbps increase to 1024kbps, if there were no speed increase I would've canceled my ADSL line cause then it just wont make sense.

My uncle just upgraded to 40Mbps in Ireland today, what a sad day this is for me. :crying:

I find the new bundle interesting... I currently have a Telkom 1Mbps Uncapped Account. I pay:

Old Cost
Telkom Internet 1024 uncapped + R369
Telkom Line Rental + R139.97
ADSL Line Rental + R289
Total Cost = R797.97

New Cost
Telkom Internet 2048 uncapped + R369
Telkom Line Rental + R148.37
ADSL Line Rental + R299
Bundle discount - R89
Total Cost = R727.37

Effectively a bump from 1Mbps to 2Mbps for a saving of R70,60 on my current cost.

EDIT: please correct me if my sums are wrong.

Looks like Manelisa is smiling about his new 2013 German marque he'll be pulling out of his driveway.

If you use Telkom as your provider. then I think you might end up saving money at the 1mbps/2mbps line..

I unfortunately just use them for the ADSL Line, my bandwidth comes from elsewhere.

On my phone - can't check properly ... But I'm the same as Mickey (R797.00 total) for 1mbps uncapped.

Are his sums right?
I'm paying less in total from August?

Why old they increase the fastest price? Maybe some speed increase .... Maybe 16-24 mb? And then introduce 40mb for like 600-800?
