telkom adsl problem

hi, my telkom line has been giving issues. basically the telephone line works most of the time but the adsl speeds have dropped significantly then all of a sudden the telephone line stops working ( can't receive calls or dial out) and adsl connection stops working as well. After a few hours everything is back to normal with telephone line but adsl speed still slower than normal. any ideas on what the problem could be?

i logged a fault with them online. have only received an sms so far giving me a tracking number
