I've got a 2mbps line from telkom.
Walked into a telkom store on Sunday and requested to increase my speed to 4mbps.
It was a very quick and easy process. She said the line would be upgraded within 4 days - 4 days has come and gone.
How can I take this further?

Also, the lady gave me a "free" router, said I get it because I'm upgrading my line in-store. I didn't think much of it then, thought it might be a promotion they're running.
But now I'm concerned because on top of the router's slip it says CONTRACT. Not sure if I was bound by a contract before, but I definitely DO NOT want to start another contract now?!

Maybe call the call centre. The stores send those requests through to them in anyway iirc, they can't process it there.

As far as the router and "contract" goes, they give you the router "free" but you owe them for it. The amount you owe gets less every month, and if you are with them for 24 months, the router is free, if you cancel beforehand they will charge you the balance of what you owe them for the router. But it's not some ridiculous price, it is the amount that the router retails for in their shop divided by 24. That's the amount it gets less with every month.
