Does anyone know how fast it takes for the upgrades, will batches takes a day/week?

Is it likely that all will be completed this year or will the poor 1mb lads have to wait until next year?

For people with 4mbps lines who want the 10mbps lines - A work around that you can try is to ask Telkom to resync you line speed to see how far it will go towards the 10mbps.
That is if you are prepared to pay the extra on a 10mbps line.
This is a new upscale as where i am from our exchange has only recently upgraded from a 4mbps exchange to a 10mbps exchange. Also remember your ISP will limit your speed to what you pay for, so a theoretical 10mbps line will run at 4mbps if that is what you pay your ISP for. I have heard rumours they go faster on some ISP during certain times of the day.

I have a 1mbps line at home and 2x 4mbps line at work. While my work one say I can get a maximium of 10mbps my home one says 1mbps so the accuracy of the Telkom utility on their site is seriously questionable. Spoke to a techie and he said I could get 10mbps from my home one as well despite what the utilitie says

They might troll everyone. Max in my area at work:" 1Mbps... Current speed: 10Mbps. Their website seems to be incorrect.

Also still waiting, patiently, for this line speed upgrade - checked yesterday and today, still sitting on the old speed, humble 1mbps line. And when checking the router it is actually connected at 1021 and 509 kbps...

The speed increase is only officially starting on the 11 of November as per the e-mail from Telkom.

From my understanding it was always the 6th, Telkom rep at Canal walk told me the same. But chances are the bulk of us will only get sorted in the new year so will have to wait and see.

I have the opposite.

Area: 10Mbps
Current service: 4Mbps

I've been on 10Mbps for ages already.

My fkn router says max attainable is 21mbps, but the stupid Telkom rep told me my exchange only support 6mbps. This was just over a week ago.

Anyone body know if these speed "upgrades" will upgrade the exchange.

I've been on 4mb and my exchange only supports 4?
After the upgrades would it support 10mb???
