You know, I could scream and swear all day when i read sheit like this....

Telkom's response is so typical.. "They strive" BULL FCUKING SHEIT... Telkom know, the Public know, even that Phat Idiotic Poisonous Ivy Cow know's that Telkom are a load of sheit and dont care about service and the public...

I wonder if Thabo is also gonna fire someone at the DA for lashing out against the Devil of Monopolies..

Telkom forgot about the 7 hours and 31 minutes the DA had to hold the line before the operator answered the phone...

Anyway, more than 24 hours to repair a fault is courting disaster in the modern IT driven society.

Telkom actually admitted they are not geared to deliver the service required for the real world of today.

“Essentially there was downtime for 24 hours and 45 minutes. Telkom always endeavors to restore interrupted services as expeditiously as possible,” said Lulu Letlape, Telkom’s Group Executive for Corporate Communication.

So now downtime for 24 hours and 45 minutes is considered to perfectly acceptable! Lulu is a great name for a fat cow.....

the sooner the loop is unbundled the better for all.
These issues keep coming up about telkom but everyone using ADSL has been aware of those issues from the very start. Telkom is dying and i doubt they even give 2 cents what we feel at the moment.
Take Telkom out of the process of being connected and everyone will live a longer life.
Telkom i hope you are reading this because i would just like to say "I Hate you, and you make my life hell!" thats excluding the handfull of telkom agents that actually are able to think for themselves and at least try to bring a better quality of server to to whom they can.

There are actually quiet a few good telkom personnel. My line went down 9pm, I waited till the morning to report it and my dsl was working again by the time I got home from work.

Sure, It was a 20min phone call of "is your router on" type things, but you cant expect a support person to know that you're smart enough to know the line is down.

But, on the other side of the coin is the ugly money making machine of telkom. But in my view, this wouldnt be a problem if there was competition and more regulations. Of course, that falls to the government to allow more providers, allow more sea cables- make sure the LLU is going quickly. I actually blame government for letting telkom get away with it.

I hope the DA doesn't drop this now. I'd like to see it come to blows in parliament, a la Zim.

Perhaps MyAdsl should call for the DA to join this group and fight Guavamint's Telecoms policies & make noise to unroot the overgrowth of Ivy this country is experiencing!.

I ordered my ADSL self install on Thursday afternoon and by friday afternoon when I got home from work, my line was syncing, I did the verification and off I went, no worries. So that isn't such a bad experience. Not like the R11 000 I paid for a well known security slamlock gate manufacturer for 3 gates, only to have the tech mess up all 3 gates and it took another 3 weeks for them to finally complete installation.

Oh sorry, this isn't www.mytrelli................

And THAT is why the DA should be the ruling party!

No thanks!

I'd much rather have an absent president and government (like we currently have) than one that sticks its nose in everywhere and just screws up as far as they go...

If the DA can only get it repaired in 24 hrs, what chance does the man in the street stand - 2 weeks!!!

Well, I did a self-install on Monday; it worked. On Tuesday, it didn't work and hasn't worked since. I did everything that I could possibly do before calling their helpdesk; only to be told that my line is not working. So, it worked one day, and not the next ? That's service for you [sarcasm]

'k that's like, so much better than 26 hours downtime. Glad the DA managed to get someone on the phone, I couldn't.
I can see the new byline now: Almost-broadband-almost-always-on ADSL

Staff cutbacks to increase profits a while back are now catching up with Telkom............ Actually this affects all sectors. Even your local police departments are probably under staffed and overworked. I now ours are for sure! Yay for Mr Mstoeltjie and his crew of suits for promoting job creation and then doing Faakoll about it.

Enjoy the weekend folks and lets hope the bokke delivers! :)
