Incorrect spells cast by Telkom and SABC sangomas, it should be: TelkoMoan.

So SABC is out of moolla, so they will not be able to secure the latest content. Does this mean Telkom will be funding them to get the latest content. How are they going to compete with the likes of Netflix, even Showmax.

How long until they go asking the government for a bailout - this is doomed from the start.

How much data would you need to watch a local soccer match?

Probably low res on this service.

Yes appears it will achieve its objective. These projects do not need to be make any financial sense or fill any market need. The measure of success is in securing bailouts and enriching oneself. Only loser is SA. ANC first. Always.

Garbage journalism. Its a telkom service, launched by telkom...with sabc non-linear content included.

Its like saying dstv was launched in partnership with cnn, natgeo, etc.

They partner together on revenue. By revenue I mean the inevitable bailout.

The SABC has rubbished reports that it's demanding that Netflix and other Internet streaming companies collect television licence fees on its behalf. “It has nothing to do with the SABC.

So this was just a hoax to get us worked up over nothing...Good luck trying to get people who watch SABC the old traditional way on their 54cm TVs with Bunny aerials

Almost certain it was never reported that they 'demanded' it. Was one of several 'ideas' they were looking at. Like government stealing pensions was put forward as one of many 'ideas'. Same with EWC, just one of many 'ideas'. All these ANC disasters are initially introduced as 'ideas', no need to get worked up, they're just 'ideas'. Then they are introduced as legislation. It is the ANC pattern.
