So as the current Group Executive of Transnet one might expect him to have full knowledge of the activities of Transtel and therefore a certain insight in to the SNO's strategy?

My thoughts exactly! Don't buy the competition, buy their managers!

Somewhat clever move by Telkom.

I guess they will have more insight now into what the SNO's strategy and capabilities are.
Isn't Microsoft in a lawsuit with a similar scenario, ex Micro staff poached by was it google ?

I believe Maria Ramos is close to a fiery dragon in Transnet - and getting results.

Did the fire become too hot?

what is up with the state of journalism lately? I mean, this isnt the first time I have come across something like this

"Nxasana, who has been at the helm of Africa’s largest communications provider since April 1998."

ermmm...are they trying to make a point? sounds like we have half a sentence missing there, or overactive use of a fullstop. Really, I think it is embarassing. It degrades the integrity of the rest of the article if the person writing it doesnt have a clue how to write english.

Well, we can always complete the sentence:

Nxasana, who has been at the helm of Africa’s largest communications provider since April 1998, was appointed by MyADSL as their new inside informant in their struggle against Telkom.
Would be nice to work with some inside information, won't it? :D

Sounds good :)

Seems like lately telkom have been making quite a few good strategic (not particularly sensible) moves...

maybe they DO want us to complete the sentence....oh well, I am always up to a challenge

Nxasana, who has been at the helm of Africa’s largest communications provider since April 1998, was recently seen pleasuring a goat

If he comes from Transtel, hopefully we was exposed to real world costings and business models, while they developed the SNO business model with TATA/VSNL. Could be a good or a bad thing. (not quite sure)

What do you think

I think its difficult to decide how this will turn out, the inside advantage will either assist Telkom in controlling the duopoly or help them undercut SNO, the latter being less likely.
