To their credit Telkom has one of the more advanced fibre cable monitoring systems, managed from the NNOC in Centurion. Ask a few of the forumites who have either worked at, or visited, the NNOC.

Have to agree with that, Telkom do have a pretty advanced cable monitoring system. I know of a couple of instances where Telkom have been on site fixing a fault before it had even been reported by anyone.
