Telkom, Cell C win in planned Mobile Termination Rate price cuts

Wow... Can't wait...
Last I checked, TM was already charing 75c/min to other networks and 25c/min to TM...
We might see 50c/min soon! Or lower?
Brilliant!!!!
And if people start to move/port networks (which they bloody well should!) I'd love to see the big guys react.
This is a great move to get CellC and TM into the game.

How's TM network quality?

CellC, please let this be more incentive to fix yours... Alan Knott-Craig has the right idea: Price + Network quality will be the giant-killer for CellC and TM... They've both got the price bit right so far.

Yeah I have to agree good move from ICASA,I'm estimating the call rates will be in the region of +-R0.60 per minute per second billing come march next year.

So a R400 contract comes with 100 anytime minutes and a premium phone now that should go to around 150-200 minutes anytime and a premium phone by middle of next year.:)

My wifes contract is due for an upgrade this month, after this news however I'm going to hold off until march/april next year before signing anything.

My guess is that Cell C have already gambled on this in setting their current prices and we won't see a big drop in prices from them, if any price decrease at all. I would prefer that they use the advantage exclusively for network investment.

+1
Their network better improve or I'm off to TM.
