Judging from the article, it seems that Telkom has a competent board, but they're handicapped by their major shareholder.

When you consider that this is with regards to a Telco that statement is both true (in SA) and a crying shame (for SA).

I think she will do well in the private sector. Things moved on a little when she was there.

Telkom does need a shake up. They should focus much more on ADSL because there is a great market out there for cheap and reliable ADSL. Start providing cheap and naked ADSL with an aggressive rollout plan. To compete on mobile and voice calls is not a good idea because the market is way too competive. They have one big advantage and that is they are the sole providers of ADSL (I don't count Neotel cause they are useless). They need to capitalize on this big time. Do this and they will make a lot of money.
