Telkom confirms ADSL IPC price cuts are on the cards

So the IPC cut will directly reduce the amount we are paying for ADSL? I would like to see a reductinon in the line cost. I think the ADSL cost is decently priced.

That's about 22% in total. If they don't cheat and compensate for inflation again, the real discount will be in the order of 34%. Unshabby.

HOWEVER!!!!!!!

Will the ISPs pass on the full price reduction to us (the consumers)?

They have in the past. I don't see why they wouldn't now.

They will try make up the potential revenue loss by making bigger sexier bundles I assume.

If I remember right some ISPs have already indicated that they intend using the price-cut savings to upgrade their infrastructure rather than reduce prices to the consumer.

If so then good luck with that. There will always be a smaller company that needs the clientèle that is willing to compete.

I'm just mentioning it because I'm tired of tired excuses. If it's not the price of international "bandwidth" then it is open peering. If IPC costs are the #1 reason for high prices then come price reductions I want to start feeling it in my monthly bill.

I really do insist. I WILL ditch my ISP which has not reduced prices in almost 3 years on my product. My support started running out along with management changes quite a while back. I rate there are already better value deals available.
