Telkom credit rating moved deeper into junk

Telkom's credit rating has been downgraded by Moody's Investors Service, the company announced in a statement to shareholders.

This follows after South Africa's credit rating moved deeper into junk earlier this month.

This is not yet realistic.
Telkom should eventually close down or be bought out. SABC is next.

How did a monopoly company who had no competition went to junk status? Poor customer service, bloated workforce,no innovative products with pricing similar to competition. Hiring of incompetents who can't help you with a problem or cancellation of ADSL and listening to music for 15 minutes before they eventually answer your call. Ditto for SAA, SABC, Transnet and post office. Run by overpaid incompetents

Another failed entity , run by incompetence. I wonder how many top management ( like SABC ) is getting more salary than the President. Total failure of management from a company that was the only one that had the monopoly to supply telecoms services. Disgraceful !!!! . Seems everything that government has a share of is run into the ground.

Bad management. Having worked there, a big issue is management. Typical state owned situation, people fired from previous companies are in upper management at telkom...
People are leaving because of management. They retrenched good people in march April and kept riff raff
Really bad management and people who have no clue, made managers.
I am really not surprised. There are some really good people there, BUT the bad out weighs the good unfortunately

Dumped them in Sept as both the ADSL & Landlines were dropped here and went for Fibre & VOIP telephone link...working like a charm. How long Telkom will have a future in this country remains to be seen though...maybe the Post Office side still has a chance?
