The staff compliment has dropped across all departments, except for the Corporate Centre which has seen strong growth. This looks like the traditional restructuring paradigm.

Wait, so you're telling me that by trying to stay a monopoly and then getting forced to compete with others in the fibre space when they won the right to self-provide, cost Telkom to lose 10's of thousands of employees and actually hurt their profit? Nooit broe.... I wish many MyADSL's didn't highlight this to you back in 2006 already, but hey, now they've learned an expensive lesson

Yep, the corporate gains meant that thousands had to lose their jobs so they could get overpaid doing nothing

The economy is struggling, let's shut it down. Yes, that will certainly help. Why not burn a few of their premises down as well, that will also strengthen the economy even more.

Bloody Muppets.

Government playing too much of a political game to even care about these job losses. It's now time to start punishing Jacob Zuma and all other beneficiaries of State Capture by legally forcing them to pay back the stolen public money spent on their selfish needs.

Why does it seem that the ANC is very synonymous with SA government nowadays? The SA government should be doing what they can to help the growing needs of the citizens as outlined in their 10 point strategic plan and not get caught up in the political games of the ANC!
