Telkom D-Link 2750U AF_1.67_T10 - For The Brave

I'm still getting wifi drops if I set 40mhz on both aerials.... :crying:

I see the retail version is also T1 and it's firmware is at 1.70 now.

Disabling "802.11n protection" prevents the drops but is apparently required for 802.11n.
So you basically not going to get the 802.11n performance increase.

Whats new? Nothing as always?

edit:

Lets ask it like this:

I have AF_1.63_T10, is it worth while to upgrade my firmware? So far the device is pretty stable with the 1.63 firmware, will that change if I upgrade? I know with the Telkom branded netgear, that didn't help at all, as the upgrades messed the device up.

I updated my Telkom branded Router to AF_1.70_R1 the retail firmware as my hardware version does state T1 on the sticker at the bottom of the router. It worked, but I still have the same Wifi issues.

Wifi drops every 30mins to an 1hr when it's se to 40MHz on both aerials.

To tell you the truth I don't really see anything new.

Guys, I'm going to say it again (I'm fairly certain I've said it before)

Telkom does not alter the manufacturer supplied firmware at all. All they do is pre-configure certain settings. You can try this on any Telkom branded router.

So you can reload the original firmware from the manufacturer a dozen times, if there's a problem with the router, then there's a problem with the router.

Not True...

Billion 800VGT had a different(special) hardware model... did not accept retail firmware.

Some Netgear Router are also locked and don't accept retail firmware...

Wait, you're going to have to be a bit more clear, "different hardware model"?
