Telkom is losing possible customers by offering limited devices.Lg makes decent entry level and midrange phones. The G3 is an awesome handset but Telkom is too lazy to update their portfolio? Why offer Huawei and not Lg?Good luck doing a warranty claim with Huawei. At least Lg has an established presence in South Africa.

Edit : I have noticed that the G3 is 399 on smart100 and 349 on smart50.It is in the interactive brochure but not on the website.

Outdated website, networks have an exclusive agreement in place with the manufacture... Could be 2 - 3 months.. Might take up that offer on the LG 3

Telkom can gain marketshare, if they offered more handsets.

*They should stock the moto g and handle all warranty claims till motorola has relaunched.

*Strike a deal with Htc and offer midrange :820,eye + m8
*Offer the L range of Lg handsets as they are good value for money.
*offer lenovo handsets that use the 2.3lte frequency. These are the cheapest mobiles with 2.3 lte

The LG store now sells the LG G3 for R7200 and you get the original LG circle case free which is worth R500. You also get to 2year manufacturer's warranty and you can use any SP sim.

Can one order the device online from LG Store. I am not even sure where there's an LG Store. Never been in anyone

Even better, get the LG G3 D858 Dual sim. It is on eBay for a good price.

How much is a good price. How reliable are the sellers on there. In the event if it is a stolen phone or not operational...

Unfortunately I cannot say. I'm lucky enough that there is an LG Lifestyle store at Canal Walk where I purchased my unit about 2 or 3 months ago. A friend just bought one from them earlier this week at the price that stated earlier. Your best bet would be to call them.

Well Telkom also didn't offer the phone I wanted. Cancelled contract and asked them to move me to prepaid. Bought new phone from Orange store. Couldn't be happier this way.

I am thinking of getting a tablet for my usual tinkering and since I have wifi in my car I might forego actually having a phone (save for a dinky backup). Samsung looks nice but the Sony tabs have ps streaming which is attractive too. Guess I won't be able to stream that to my car tho :)
