I remember the previous article posted about this fiasco. I am sorry that Telkom couldn't put sufficient preventative actions in place to prevent this from reoccurring.

EDIT: I am also shocked to see this:

No comment from Telkom

Contracts mean nothing these days.

People are quick to sign them and make promises, but then don't honor their part of the agreement.

Agreed thats why this property owner is teaching Telkom the virtues of discipline.

However, Telkom has reportedly not paid the correct amounts for the electricity required to run the cellphone tower since the beginning of the COVID-19 national lockdown, the owner told MyBroadband.

This property owner is also too indulgent , how can he only switch it off yesterday when they have not been paying for so long? Considering that they have done this before, he should just proceed to switch it off as soon as possible

5G Is going to mean many more towers, most of which will be on private buildings. How does an even higher volume of such leases get paid for on time. I can see lots of 5G outages coming up for SA ;-)

Telkom did not respond to a request for comment sent by MyBroadband."

Of course they couldn't...they didn't have any signal...because the tower was off!
