Hi there,
I have a blog hosted at http://www.synchronic.co.za/nick/blog/wordpress and a forwarder, http://blog.nicksmit.co.za , that points to it.
Whenever I give friends a link to my blog, or when I try and access it myself, it doesn't load. I recently changed my DNS servers to the opendns.org ones (www.opendns.org) and it loads up fine. I have told some friends to use it, and after changing their settings, my site loads without any hassles.
What is up with Telkom's dns servers?
Also, when I try to specify my dns servers on my router (Netgear DG834GT), the ADSL link drops, and it can't reconnect until I set it back to obtain from the isp.
Lastly, is there any disadvantage in using the opendns servers?
