Telkom in major data centre play

Telkom is potentially looking at announcing a partnership with a hyperscale computing provider soon, CEO Serame Taukobong has told MyBroadband.

Hyperscalers include players such as Alibaba, Huawei, Oracle, Facebook, Amazon Web Services, SAP, Microsoft, and Google.

Telkom's Leadership Team are a bunch of dinosaurs with archaic ideas and thought processes. No doubt they'll turn this into another spectacular failure ala MultiLinks, BCX, etc, etc.

Will be a Chinese company.

SA will not entertain western infrastructure as it goes against brics.

We are always on the wrong side of history.

“We are looking at getting a strategic partner for BCX to drive scale and capability,” said Taukobong.
So that would be the mysterious "hyperscaler"?

What does Telkom really expect to achieve with BCX that has not already proved to be an impossible lofty goal in the many years since Telkom bought BCX and effectively destroyed BCX, or is the goal to completely destroy BCX the way many SOEs have been destoyed by cadre deployments?

Surely Telkom should just sell BCX and concentrate on running and expanding its networks.

Hyperscalers include players such as Alibaba, Huawei, Oracle, Facebook, Amazon Web Services, SAP, Microsoft, and Google.
My guess is that Serame has a woody for Huawei and wants to be repeatedly dominated by Huawei.
