Telkom fails yet again to answer the telephone

I believe that Telkom is going to increase its call centre staff by 100% by getting a second person to answer the phone.

A Telkom spokesperson I approached for comment said the breakdown was due to criminal activity and the company was working round the clock to put it right.

Ok guys, who did it?

I know we all hate this telscum company but this is low :D

But thats telkom for you. I had a situation where i was holding for almost 2 hours. Luckily from a normal LAN line.

but what can we say - its telkom

These bastards have kept me waiting for a line installation since May. Apparently the problem is I live in a cable theft hotspot and no cables are being replaced until they can find an alternate solution via a study.
I spoke to one of their technical people who was really helpful and she explained to me what the alternatives were that Telkom has to "explore". Apparently underground cables and vsat to the exchange are options.
Nothing I've heard from anyone from Telkom can convince me that since May they have been unable to decide on a solution.
To make matters worse their communication is so dismal that twice I've been told the problem has been fixed and I must be available for the installation only to sit at home and then get told that in fact the problem has not been resolved.
I've taken time off work and spent hours on the phone and no one can tell me if i'll ever get a phone line.
At this rate I'll move to a new house so I can get a telephone line.

Get a mobile. Use mobile internet. Avoid Telkom. End of story. Stop playing games. It is a waste of time.

Even if they answer the phone, they fail to grasp the problem. Pretty useless company all around.
