Telkom recently installed a Fibre line at my house using the Huawei Echolife HG824 modem and connected it to my existing Telkom D-Link VDSL/ADSL modem/router with an Ethernet cable from the Lan1 port on the modem to the WAN port on the router. My internet connection is working fine, BUT: I have two questions / problems.

1. I am unable to access the admin console of the modem, I can only see the D-Link router from my PC, how do I access the modem?
2. Since installing the Fibre modem my Windows Homegroup is unstable. Sometimes I can see the various computers but are unable to access the shared printer or shared files (I have two PC's on Windows 7 and one Lapton on Windows10 on the network with a printer connected to one PC and shared with the Homegroup). Has anyone experienced the same and and were able to overcome this problem?

I will appreciate any suggestions on how to overcome these problems.
