Telkom fibre on Vumatel infrastructure

I am currently on Telkom adsl unlimited contract and have 9 months remaining. I was told by Telkom if I move to them on fibre I do not need to buy out the rest of my contract. However, Telkom adsl has been so poor I am worried staying with them. Additionally, Vumatel has installed for a week now and simply getting someone at Telkom to switch me from adsl to fibre on Vumatel network is impossible. I need to know if anyone out there is using Telkom fibre data on Vumatel infrastructure and how is it working for you? How do I get connected ?

Stay Away from Telkom Internet! I will just cancel the 9 months contract(10% Penalty remaining term + 1 Month).
Let Vumatel Install your line and pay the R1710 installation.

Adsl & fibre not the same thing so you won't have adsl related issues on fibre.
Call telkom and ask them what your early termination penalty will be, it won't be much.
If not much and you want to move sign up with vuma + cool ideas, only cancel telkom once that is live & working.

YES! Great information, thanks no one at Telkom could give me information on the penalty. I have already had Vumatel install and thus could go with cool ideas (heard good things about them) I have a tp-link gigabit router and I am ready to fly on fibre. Home network is optimized for fibre. I have read that the free installation is actually given as credit on the account so it won’t matter that I have already paid for Vumatel installation.
