Telkom Fibre Setup

Good Evening All, Telkom has installed my fibre and left me with a D-Link DSL-G225 and a HUAWEI HG8240H, but the techie never configured anything I have my telkomsa login and password can anybody please help me with the setup.

Connect LAN 1 of the Huawei to the Blue WAN port of the D-Link. Log into the D-Link (the manual will tell you how). Make sure it set to prefer Ethernet WAN over ADSL/VDSL and set it to use PPPoE with your account details they gave you. Basically follow the quick setup guide once logged in.

You need to run a LAN cable from the back of the HUAWEI HG824H (LAN port 1) to the WAN port at the back of the D-Link DSL-G225. On the D-Link then you need to configure your TelkomSA login and password. You might need to set the D-Link to operate in WAN mode instead of DSL mode though.

I suggest you consult the router's manual, or look it up online.

After that you should be good to go
