Telkom FTTH - connecting PC directly to ONT (and dialing PPPoE)?

So, I have a bit of a silly question.

I have my fibre installation done, but I opted to go with my own router. I'm still waiting on delivery of the router.

In the meantime, is there a way to connect the ONT directly to my PC and dial out through PPPoE that way? I desperately want to use my fibre line but it's sitting unused.

Can this be done, or am I SOL until Wednesday next week? (ETA of my new router)

Yes, just plug the RJ45 into your PC and dial a PPPoE session.
