RPM,
Although ICASA may legaly hold private meetings with Telkom, and I am sure this has happened a lot in the past, I feel strongly that we as the community that lodged the 400+ complaints deserve to be involved in this process.
If it was not for the efforts of RPM and all others who worked long hours on submitting those complaints ICASA would never be as enlightned as they are now about the state of broadband costs and access.
If Telkom are going to carry on with their smokescreens or use DR Celi and his riduculous interpretations of the regulations and the laws we need to counter their objections and arguments. please remember that the people working at ICASA are only human and they need to be continually reminded why we started this fight in the first place.
It is very strange how the ANC and all it's branches have been very quite when it comes to responding to the ICASA findings. If ever there was a time to gather support from their voters, when they seem to be loosing this support due to poor service delivery, now is the time to educate and mobilise. If only these voters knew what they could do with this wonderful tool called the internet. You just need to look at India and Brazil to realize how far behind the most developed coutry in Africa - South Africa, is falling to these other 'developing' countries!!
Stay the course and keep the fight.
