um, this article sucks. i still dont know what this guy is going on about?
Not really the article's fault . . . ;)

The non-BEE half (ACT) of a subcontracting partnership (GITA) alleges that the BEE half (GAST) stole Telkom business from under its nose, even though it (GAST) was in serious financial difficulty. There is an implication of corruption (why choose a technically bankrupt subcontractor...?)

By the sounds of it, though, both halves were in dire straits, although the GAST half used the Telkom business to prise itself out of trouble.

Okaaaaaaay, but wtf does it have to do with Telkom?
Well, there's suspicion cast that Telkom may have chosen its insolvent contractor because of some kind of corrupt back-scratching.

Mr Mobu doesn't help by making the (somewhat cryptic) comment, "Everything has an explanation. There should be a reason for it.".

No-one is yet quite sure what that explanation may be . . .

I wouldn't be suprised that Telkom awarded them the contract out of pure stupidity. Punt.

Coincidence

It is a strange coincidence that the companies mentioned are very closely related to senior individuals in Telkom.

Most likely cause 'they' either own them or are on the board of directors of it.
