Telkom Intergrated Data Sim (IDS) - connects, but no routing :mad:

Hi Guys,


I have two newly obtained SIM's on my Softcap 40GB product.

The lady at the Telkom store confirms that they are working.. but with either SIM, when I connect to the web (via windows 10 and HSDPA dongle) - it's says connected, no internet.


I can confirm it's getting an IP, when I try to ping anything, it comes with with the Tower/Router's IP, saying it's unreachable... Almost like it's not active... I've tried APN's internet and TelkomInternet, als tried entering my DSL username and password - with any of the aforementioned, it connects, but no traffic.

PLEASE HELP... I'm about to go burn Telkom to the ground... 10 calls to 10210 and 10213 - every time a different excuse as to why it's not working.

Clarify newly obtained - it can take Telkom a couple of days to process the RICA stuff and nothing seems to happen over weekends.

Do not enter username and password just TelkomInternet as the APN.

Phoned telkom again now... now they are saying the SoftCap account hasn't been associated to the SIM's.... but at the store, they told me it was....

I don't know anymore, the left hand of Telkom doesn't know what the right hand of Telkom is doing....

:D ... reckon they're both right, the store has associated the sims with your TI softtcap account BUT TI will only activate them when RICA has cleared.

Is it a RAS access modem (using dial up connection - emulated COM port)? If so, it is very likely Windows 10 problem. They screwed up RAS access. It also could be data not allocated yet by Telkom.

True, but SIM is allowed register to the network, so RICA is done.
