Telkom Internet cuts ADSL prices and doubled ADSL data

I always welcome moves like this

If I was in Telkom product I would approach these price reductions slightly differently - I think the trick is to encourage people to make small incremental increases in their monthly spend and then get major benefits. That way the arpu increases and the shareholders throw more support behind moves like this in future

This is "TelkomInternet" not "Telkom". Article title is suggesting that Telkom has lowered ADSL access charges.

Great. Downloaded at 6 kilobytes per second last night on my 4MB line and 10GB soft capped TI account (yes I still had lots of data remaining. How could I run out anyway with speeds like that). More data for everyone will definitely improve that.

Ok I'm moving to capped.

100 gigs daytime + the coming integrated data wallet will be prettty sweat.

All Telkom customers are set to receive double their Telkom Internet data allocation for free from 1 October 2015 to 31 March 2016, the company announced.

Yes,although it seems self explanatory but you never know and therefore I have to ask...does this apply to the smarthome 24-month contract products?

Techcentral.co.za had some info on the integrated data wallet:

The company also said it will use its mobile network to ensure that customers awaiting installations and those in high fault zones are able to access their monthly fixed data allocation to connect to the Internet using the on-net Telkom Mobile network.

This service will be targeted at “certain customers” and will require a Telkom Internet Sim card with specific configuration settings to enable the alternative access and to set up modems and devices for use or failover.

I wonder if that will be the policy going forward once it is fully launched?

This.

I didn't see any reduction in ADSL costs in the whole of the article.

yaaa... pity they not cutting ADSL line and access charges... guess they need to hold on to some revenues :)

So looking at the capped bundle deals it doesn't look like there is a 50 gig one for 4mbps. Am i right?

Would i need to sign up for the R699 10mbps bundle to see the benefit of bundle pricing even though i can't get faster than 4Mbps? Is it month to month without a router?

Mooi! Sharing a 50GB account between home and the office and we have just started reaching cap point before month end. This double bump came at the perfect time!
