So, Telkom have announced their line upgrade schedule. telkom rollout.PNG
Afrihost have clarified that customers will pay slightly more for the upgrade on the ISP side, and consider this fair.

Question simply is what are the intentions of all the other ISPs?

This could be a game changer depending on ISP pricing.

Don't want to hold my breath.
Normally Mweb was first to respond. Though it was a different CEO with a different approach to business....

AFAIK, that relates to last years upgrades, not this years. Afrihost is yet to make an anouncement

I phoned MWEB yesterday. They said they will make a press release end of the month, but what what will probably be happening is that you will pay less for yuor current connection speed, or opt to upgrade to the faster connection at the existing rate you are paying, give or take a few Rands.

Oops my apologies .... Getting excited and now as despondent as hell:crying:

Telkom are going ahead and have clarified dates, but the ISP part of the equation is the real issue... This is where the costs and shaping will apply, and the silence is just killing me.

Agreed :( I'm dangerously leaning towards TI at the moment :(

I'm guessing that's exactly what they are trying to do.

They must resist the temptation. They are falling into a trap setup by Telkom!

At the end of the day, Consumers will need to look out for themselves, I agree that Telkom has a loaded gun over the heads of other ISP's but consumers will always go for the best deal. I'll stay with AH if their pricing is acceptable. I don't expect it to remain at R199 but the increase can't be excessive...
