Telkom looking at retrenchment alternatives

"A total of 1,170 employees have been affected by the process, of which 724 accepted voluntary severance packages. The remaining 446 have been transferred to other companies."

So 1,170 people were transferred to the new company of which 724 took packages , so at the end of the day the company that took over the call centers only got 446 people . :wtf:

Maybe they should look at their ridiculous waiting times for line installations. I waited 3-4 weeks for a Telkom techie to pitch up and activate my ADSL and voice line. He was done in 20 minutes. Why did I have to wait so long?! Seems they need more techies!

Yeah after they retrenched 10210 went dead. Good luck getting ANYONE to answer.... Waiting times early in the morning when they open is already over 1 hour and during the day well over 2 hours waiting time.....

Yeah it seems the demand is there to increase their subscriber base but they are not able to meet that demand!
