Telkom LTE-A - Increased data usage

We recently signed up for Telkom's LTE-A package - R699/m - 50G data. Apart from the fact that we have been struggling with the Huawei E5186 - mainly instability with WIFI, printers on the network etc, our main concern is this: We previously had an Afrihost package that gave us 50G per month as well, via ADSL. Not once did we use our monthly bundle - ever! This, despite downloads, Netflix etc. With this new package, we are ploughing through our bundle in two weeks. WE HAVE NOT CHANGED OUR BROWSING BEHAVIOR! In fact, given the rate of burning through our bandwidth, we have cut down and limited ourselves, yet we have 4G left for the month. Any ideas?

just check your Netflix settings. I had the same problem with telkom LTE-A and found it to be Netflix. it will auto negotiate at the best possible quality, which when i was getting good LTE speeds was 4K. At 4K the data usage is around 7GB an hour.

Check your settings and force it to use a lower quality and you will have all your bandwidth back
