Sadly, none of the mainstream phones that I know of work on their frequency.

For the record, you're looking for LTE Band 40 support which is TDD 2300MHz.

Nope only phone to support Telkom LTE is the iPhone 5S, but apple have not enabled support for Telkom Mobile.

So in reality no phone supports Telkom LTE. Routers & USB Modem's only....

Telkom LTE is a #fail, they are using a very odd frequency. And I don't see things changing for a while....

They said they followed China and India as countries using that band, with the hope that cellphone companies will make phones that support that band, based on the market size of these two countries

Wrong. They had this band allocated long time ago for other services.

The iPhone 5C also supports TDD 2300MHz. I'm waiting patiently but I'm not too stressed. LTE on a mobile phone that also does voice is mayhem. Also turning LTE on and off, or rebooting your phone several times a day, makes you feel it's not worth it. 3G really is good enough for mobile phones.

In Cell C's case I actually really disagree. Poor 3G speeds they really need LTE to relieve that 3G congestion. I also think that Cell C choice of having 3G on the 900 Mhz band is a disaster.... It only extended their coverage but means less towers and more users per tower. Disaster....

Does TM LTE work on the 5s yet?

Hi blunt

Not as yet. we are still waiting for LTE self certification process required by Apple to enable the functionality on the devices. Once this has been done a communique will be sent out.

Regards
