Telkom Mail Server Problems

Anyone else experiencing problems with Telkom's mail server ? Email that I've sent to myself more than a 12 hours ago has yet to arrive ...

Other clients of mine are also experiencing mail delivery delays with Telkom.

This appears to be specific to domain emails hosted with telkom as opposed to the regular telkomsa.net address ...

In addition - Telkom's SMTP server is giving untold hassles ... time out errors, domain not found and other times just refusing to connect. Been like this since Saturday.

I have and will never use email accounts from an ISP. The simple reason being that I would have to give everyone my new email address if I wanted to move to a different ISP. Another reason being that you never know how reliable they are and being a shared server, how many people have sent spam with the mail servers IP, causeing it to become blacklisted.

To save yourself a lot of hassles, just rather get a gmail account. They are very reliable will almost always be available assuming that we don't lose out international links. PM me your email address and I'll send you an invite if you're interested. :)

The emails I'm referring to are emails linked to a custom domain hosted with telkom ( ie. mycompanyname.co.za email address ) so I don't have the problem with regards to switching ISPs ...

I do, however, have a problem when Telkom can't operate their mail server correctly ... I have now discovered that this problem has been in place since Friday ...

Emails to both domains hosted with Telkom are simply not being delivered.

The Telkom DNS server hosting my domains is fried .... wonderful. Nice that I must be the one to point out this problem to them ...

It gets better - Telkom's System Administrators don't work Sundays ...

How in the world can you operate an ISP and the SysAdmin's don't work Sundays !

24/7 customer support - that's wishful thinking
