Another top quality South African service provider. In the year 2012, in the business hub of Africa, Johannesburg. About 100m away from Northgate shopping centre, Banbury Cross and Bellairs shopping centre. A major shopping and residential area.

Yet, this is what I get. Telkom cant give me a line thanks to infrastructure problems or wtf ever. Vodarip is a rip. MTN is useless. Cell C is ABYSMAL. I am thus stuck with 8ta.

Thanks 8ta. Really great speeds you have in Northgate. Keep it up.

I'm just down towards the bottom of Bellairs and mine is just as bad, I really regret not getting a sim card and testing before I signed into a two year contract.

Edit:

See this test from this morning:

And this is at before 6 in the morning, so it can't be congestion.

This is in the pouring rain about 5 minutes ago :http://www.speedtest.net/result/1923734323.png

It's not Blow-You-Away-And-Leave-You-Broken-And-Confused fast but it isn't Rage-In-The-Corner-And-Demand-To-Know-What-You-Did-To-The-Gods-To-Deserve-This slow.

I'm satisfied and it is significantly quicker than CellC was with no dropping to EDGE.

Yeah it's much better again today. I find it to still be slower in general than what I get with CellC in my area but it works even if it does get slow. When CellC gets slow then it doesn't want to work. When CellC works though then it's very fast.

Test conducted on 01 May 2012 08:01:42 AM
Download Speed: 520 kbps (65 KB/sec transfer rate)
Upload Speed: 145 kbps (18.1 KB/sec transfer rate)
Latency: 91 ms

That'll do for me.

wondering how is the pingtest showing your ping to oversee and local?

That pingtest is not very accurate. My 4mb adsl is giving me 500ms + on pingtest but in games its like 30ms. Just like on my 8ta which its showing local 500ms but to spain 420ms but in league of legends when I play with 8ta I get 218ms and those servers are hosted in Germany. I also get not lag what so ever in league of legends or localally hosted fps games like mw3 or bf3

Even 350ms to london on vodacom is not right cause that is quite high. I always test my ping by actually doing something that needs it to be stable and low like FPs games or international MMORPG's are good too. Like I said my 8ta connection is very stable on games. I would moan if its not for sure.
