Yes, on the "promotion 5" deal running the E1820 modem directly through my netgear router. That test was done via wifi.

I have even seen pings in the high 20's but could not break the 10mbps barrier yet :)
I live in pta east if that makes a difference.

Regards
Jacques

EDIT: Just cracked 10!!

Test conducted on Sat Aug 25 2012 12:48:52 GMT+0200 (South Africa Standard Time)

Download Speed: 10293 kbps (1286.6 KB/sec transfer rate)
Upload Speed: 2205 kbps (275.6 KB/sec transfer rate)
Latency: 47 ms

BTW, this is the first 3G connection that I could game online without much delay (+-50ms)

Best yet so far:

I was once where you are for a whole year!!! Was loving 8ta!!

Now for the passed month im getting this

Test Date: Sep 7, 2012 9:49 PM Connection Type: HSDPA Server: Johannesburg Download: 0.70 Mbps Upload: 0.27 Mbps Ping: 785 ms

Only happens weekdays from 7pm and the whole day on weekends.
Can only be congestion from poor structure or incompitence. I now hate 8ta...

Never felt so robbed in my life!!
I think 8ta has to realise that it has to stop this promotion to keep their current customers happy...

I am not usually one to complain, but this is beyond bad:

I contacted 8ta, and they sent a technician out to my house on Tuesday. Lets see if anything is done...

Did both just now.

If I cancelled my contract early, what kind of penalties will there be?

Hi marmeduke!

Please allow us to try and fix this for you? Complete our template and we will initiate the investigation.

Early cancellation penalties depend on which contract you have. Follow our process on our sticky and you will be contacted about it.

i have a mtn 3g 24month contract.
use to work fine, but the last month my signal strenght sucks.
so i bought a 8ta simcard, and R150 airtime, poped the simcard into my mtn dongle, converted the airtime to data, and it works perfectly.
where i live the 8ta signal is alot better than the mtn.
