I was browsing the package and stumbled upon the fair usage policy:

The Completely Unlimited Data benefit is only applicable for Telkom Mobile’s data network and is governed by a Fair Usage Policy (FUP) of 10GB per month. The speed shall be throttled to 128kbps if a subscriber reaches a data usage soft cap of 10GB before the end of the month. The speed shall be reset to normal speed at the beginning of each calendar month alternatively subscribers can purchase once off or recurring data bundles.

If you were on the LTE network 10 GB is not much to work with before that draconian throttling speed kicks in?

The throttling has removed all of the appeal this package would have.

It's been brought up before but I can't find it. How do they get around the ASA with using unlimited when it states that only uncapped products can be throttled?

Ah OK, I would guest precedent was set when the ASA ruled in favor of MWeb, in that uncapped case, if I recall correctly.

They still offer the best deal in town even though you have to be within Telkom Mobile Coverage.

Lots can still be desired with 128 kb/s, you can possibly download an extra 70 gigs.

The completly unlimited package is just not good when it comes to data, I mean 128kbps is frastrating if you are looking for the best data package deals the 10GB + 10GB and 15GB + 15GB is the way to go...

My calculations suggest 41 gig in 30 days. 128/8*60*60*24*30. Minus overheads probably about 30 gig or less.

How much electricity will your device/PC that run 24/7 consume?

It depends exactly what is "unlimited". Bits used? Data rate/speed? Etcetera.

Technically, it's not wrong to say "completely unlimited (for the first 10GB downloaded that month)".

Learning to decode Marketing-speak is indispensable in negotiating the modern world.
