[Telkom Mobile Connect] SIM EAP not working

Hi Guys,

I'm hoping someone can help, I have a stock Samsung Galaxy SIII mini 4.1.2 that does not want to connect to Telkom WiFi with SIM EAP. My rooted Samsung Galaxy SIII 4.1.2 connects to the same AP with no problems.

Does anyone know if the problem lies with the phone, or with Telkom?

P.S Regardless whether the phone is roaming or not, the S3 mini won't connect to the Telkom AP. Both phones are on the same contracts with 8ta.

There was one mention on XDA (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2280270) but it's very vague.
