Anyone keen to profile these hotspots? The one I use up the road (Seattle Coffee is the main attraction :D) only hits 6Mbps.

Edit: Caltex at the top of Ruhamah, Roodepoort.

Tyger Valley Shopping Mall Wimpy is 10Mbps. ;)

The BMW centre in Cape Town foreshore is almost the same speed.

How to setup and use the secondary device :

Once you have found the MAC address of your wireless adapter, do the following to link your secondary device:
Make sure the Wi-Fi MAC(Media Access Control) address of the secondary device is registered and/or added on the Wi-Fi portal
Please register and/or sign in on our Self Service portal on http://www.telkommobile.co.za/login
And add the Wireless adapter MAC address of a secondary device.
Connect to the SSID: Telkom Mobile Guest
You will then be authenticated and connected to the internet

A profile of the Telkom hotspots would be useful, so here's my experience of the Bedfordview sites for anyone interested:
BEMBOM - no Telkom connection as indicated on their website, but free wifi. Very slow, browsing only, and only if sitting outside or by the window. No usenet downloads permitted.
EUROPA (Bedford Square) - didn't work at all for me.
MANTOVANIS (Eastgate Square) - erratic. 0.7 - 2.2 Mbps. I was sitting outside. Inside perhaps more stable.
WIMPY, Eastgate - 2.8Mbps on average, instructions to connect helpfully placed on table.
WIMPY, Bedford Centre - best experience yet; 4 - 5mbps. Fine for me, though it seems it may be well below the national average!

The free WiFi works unbelievably well here. I get about 6-10Mbps and I am unable to connect to the paid service I used EAP-SIM and EAP-AKA both not working on my Motorola Razr I.

I still can't access it. Is that the correct one? Where do I get my password?

Yes but I registered my device MAC address on the TM website.

But if you're on the CellC network, how would it be able to authenticate the MAC address?

You must use a Telkom Mobile sim.
