Enter your MAC address in CAPS on the TM site, otherwise it won't allow you to enter the characters. 4 hours of my life I will never get back.

Bringing up this old thread, My bad!
Too late it has been resurrected!

I located a hotspot close to my house: wifi.jpg

I am parked in the car indicated by a green dot, The red dot indicates what i believe to be the tower since the dbm increase the closer i got and because it simply looked like a tower!

I was unable to connect at first then i figured out you need to log into the second SSID: Telkom Mobile Guest.

I had to connect with my MacBook with a e367 modem with my 8ta sim in it on the internet 5 promo. I ended up using my actual normal included telkom mobile data... I had great signal and ended up chowing a hundred MB's in just over 15 min.

Why did it use my data and not my free unlimited wifi data?

Have I missed something?

Go onto the self service portal and add your macbook pro under the my services tab and use a mac address. It should then not need the sim to connect.

Hi StonerStuart

Please advise if your MAC address has been linked to the number that you are using to connect? Please PM your affected number and contact number so that we can confirm and assist further.

Tested that: 'hot-spot' and it is pathetic!

Could not connect most of the time, finding the strongest signal is next to impossible!

I am now at McDonalds East Rand Value Mall, it is surprisingly good here.

Normal D speeds:

Torrent Speeds:

Im guessing that torrents are RL, the seeding is good and the S/P ratio was good so ja.

Mr. Telkom…

Tell me if you know that you are seriously limiting the downloading of torrents.

hey all - im not on TM but am considering a switch.

i see mention of a 'second' device - is it limited to primary device (phone) + 1 additional? or can I add my laptop _and_ my ipad as secondary devices?

Out of interest, how many people make use of TM hotspots and how much data do you typically use? I'm finding it to be a rather useless carrot.

I usually do all my app updates with it

edit: and I used it download some movies from the samsung hub when they were giving vouchers
