Telkom Mobile - Out of Bundle when connected to MTN network

I'm on the 10GB + 10GB Telkom contract which I originally used at home and it worked fine since I had Telkom mobile coverage there, but have since done a SIM swop and am now using the SIM in my iPad.

Strangely, when I am in places where there is no Telkom coverage, the device roams on the MTN network (as expected) but for some reason it comes up with the error that I have used up my bundle (out of bundle notification page comes up in Safari and Chrome browser) even though the Telkom Mobile portal reflects that I still have 9.9GB of my bundle available. Whenever there is Telkom mobile network coverage I am able to use my 3G data again. Is this "normal" in that the 10GB promo users are restricted from roaming on the MTN network, or is something wrong elsewhere?

I stand corrected here, but I think it works like the LTE offers they had. If you are roaming, it doesnt work

The promo is for Telkom only coverage. You cannot use it while roaming. Check if they have the wording "All Network Data" or "Telkom Mobile Data" or some such.

Promo only works on Telkom Mobile network, to roam on MTN you'll have to buy "All Net" data bundles.

I suspect you may be right... as luck would have it there isn't any Telkom coverage in- and around my workplace, and the other places where it may have been useful.

It does work like that, I have tested my 10GB+10GB SIM it in my tablet before and get that same out of bundle notification message. It's a Telkom network only deal (that's why its so cheap).
