I sent through my cancellation forms to cancel my telkom contract when the 2 years came to and end back in November 2016. I sent through the email on the 4th of November. Telkom then debited me in December in which I reversed the debit order hoping it would stop afer that. I then got debited in January again, I called them and spoke to someone and they wanted me to resend the cancellation forms which i said i will not do it again as they need to do their job, i sent the call centre agent my original email and he said he will cancel it and follow up and phone me back, 2 weeks went past he never called back so I called again. Was told the same story and that it will be cancelled and followed up. Telkom has now debited me again! I have had enough of this, Do i need to send a letter of demand?

Did you do the cancellation form in November 2016 and did you get a confirmatory email? I have a similar issue with them at the moment where they also deducted a cancelled contract less the handset. With my previous contract I had the same issue and they reimbursed me the over deductions. I have one more contract coming to an end in April and then I will be rid of them for good. It is so annoying that they can't get a simple thing like a cancellation of a contract right.

Did you manage to resolve this

Telkom have a hellish cancellation procedure. Send in the forms. Then wait fora phone call from the cancellations department (no joke, this can take up to six months). Only once the call comes through from cancellations can you cancel your contract.

You have to pay the contract fee in the months you're waiting for cancellations to call. If there's a way to circumvent this, I haven't found it.

I have major issues with this and the law or CPA should change the rules and enforce that it must be easier to cancel a contract than it is to take one out.

I have done this but there seems to be an internal error on Thier side when cancelling my multisim

I spoke to the cancellation consultant 3 times and they promise to contact me later but never do.

I am now considering blocking their debit order

Is it not just easier to get you contract move to prepaid? Like what the networks like you to do if you want to port out.

Am in the same boat. I cancelled in May. Someone there cancelled the cancellation.

They upped the debit amount from R99 to R345 , which they pulled out of their arses. I reversed the debit order. On all calls to Telkom, they say the issue will be resolved within 72 hours.

They still owe me R800 deposit. When I go back to SA, I am lodging a criminal case against them for fraud, then going to the small claims court

Happened to me too - and when i clicked on FNB to cancel and reverse the debit-order Telkom phoned to say that even if YOU cancelled, if Telkom has not confirmed the cancellation and stopped billing you, you are still liable for all the amounts they debit. If you cancel the debit order they will create a late-payment/default etc on the ITC.

They said once they do finally cancel (even if its 3 months after you actually cancelled like me), if they owe you money it will be available in a credit. So I have a credit with Telkom which when I asked to be refunded to me I was told it can be used on any new Telkom service or product. It cannot be given back to my bank account. :(

Same with me,canceled 4 months and still every month I have to go to bank to reverse debit. Bank told me they have endless problems with Telkom and they keep changing the amount if I stop the order. Bank recommends I have to change my account to another no.. Useless company!!!

I'm in the same boat . I cancelled my ADSL line 4 months ago by emailing them the cancellation forms. Every month I'm still receiving and invoice. At least I knew better than to sign a debit order with telkom.

What I dont understand is that after 4month they are still billing me but last year some time I forget to pay and my adls line was suspended the next day
