My voice calls on Vodacom over the last 12 months have been brilliant. I am keen to have a taste of Telkom Mobile and see what they are like but I have some questions:
- How is the voice call quality?
- How well does the handover to MTN happen if you are travelling and on a call?
- Do you ever get those dreaded "Missed Call" notifications even though your phone was on? (Hated this during my 2yrs with Cell C)
- Anything voice related which I should be worried about?
I can't complain about the TM network. Voice/Data works well. Very odd occasions something weird happens. Perhaps once every two weeks. Not a train smash considering the price difference. Network wise - a lot better than when I was on Cell C.
Please be warned (from my experience over 2.5 years): Telkom's service will eat your soul. Regardless of where or how you interact with them, it's a lost battle. Their product offerings and even network quality is actually pretty good, but their customer service managed to drop to off-the-chart lows. I will be cancelling all my contracts with them coming up for renewal later in the year and move back to Vodacom, even at double the price for half the offer. 100% the result of their consistent and persistent horrifically bad customer service and employees, my move will have nothing to do with their network quality.
