Hi guys,

My friend made payment to telkom for his ADSL line 2 weeks ago, and telkom has cut them off now for non payment, called them and they saying they will reactivate when they receive payment. Is TelkomZA still around to be able to help with this issue?

Peace!

no, straight up hard cut, no landline no adsl nadda

Hard cut probably means physically cut, i.e. line disconnected at the exchange, whereas soft cut would be via their systems. How did you confirm that it was the former?

do they help on this page? and if they do is it worth even trying?

They don't seem to be eager to help anywhere, but since Charl was vacated from his TelkomZA post, this has been my most successful method of getting a reaction out of them.

ah! i understood that way wrong! i think it was automated on the system due to payment, dont think it was disconnected coz when he did try calling afrihost (his isp) it said the line has been disconnected

This is my line we have been discussing. It is a soft cap cut off can't make calls but can receive them. When my wife made contact with the telkom accounts department they're response was when we get our money they will reactivate the line. No way of following up with proof to send that payment was actually made. They were not interested. No suggestions from Telkom that a reconnection fee would be applicable but knowing them it will probably apply anyway...

TelkomZA is still responding to PMs and sorting out technical problems but I don't think they handle billing queries, iirc Charl wasn't able to assist with them either.

Right so I've never done this before via EFT.
Maybe wait for it to clear? Normally you'd pay in store, phone Telkom and give them the reference on the slip and everything would be sorted.

If you get hard cut you're definitely going to pay a reconnection fee.
