Telkom announces huge earnings boost — but there's a catch

Telkom has informed shareholders that it expects to report much higher earnings in its upcoming half-year results compared to the same period last year.

For the six months ended 30 September 2023, Telkom expects to show 45%–55% increased basic earnings per share, while headline earnings will be 40%–50% higher.

Smoke and mirrors?
All to guarantee executives receive bonuses for Christmas....

Eskom did the same for year and years.
Exactly, even Telkom has been doing that for years, how soon did the company get into trouble right after Maseko left, while they were apparently thriving while he was still there.

They blow smoke all the way. Used to work for these wankers 25+ years ago. BSd their way through every year. There were never money for increases, but the T20 always got their bonusses.

Everyone praised him for Telkom's "turnaround".
The splitting of Telkom cost it money.
All it did was create a top-heavy structure and leadership roles were duplicated across the divisions.

Could never shake the feeling that the BCX deal was like a bailout of a struggling company.

Telkom don't pay Christmas bonuses, only in July after year end.

So standard operating procedure businesses everywhere then.
