Telkom online order issue

Hi Guys,

I am not sure if someone could assist in pointing me to the correct channels here. I placed an order with Telkom to install a landline on the 26th June. I have since received a confirmation email that the order was placed followed by an sms with a reference number of the order.

The problem comes in where i am not able to track the order with the Telkom online order tracking as it says "Unable to retrieve your order". I have phoned in to Telkom and after 20 minutes managed to get a consultant which also said the order is not on their system.

I don't want to be double charged for this service by trying to put another order through. Has anyone had a similar experience and if so, what was done to resolve and/or get the order processed ?

Nope even if you place an order on the website a callcentre agent will still call you and only then you would be given a order number being something like this 12345678A

If you get a number like that you would know they are working on your request. Even if a line needs to be installed they will contact you to schedule a time for the technician to come. The fact that none of this has happened yet means your order is not going the way it should. You can contact sales on 10210 or 10213.

Thanks for the information. After an hour on the phone i managed to get an order with the 12xxxxx12A format. I suppose it is a case of waiting now, as i still can't even track the order online via this

The fact that their online systems are not coupled to there main system is one of the many things that are lacking with Tellkom. I guess it is a deal that needs to be made with the devil as there are no alternatives. I will give it another week to see if i get that illusive phone call to install the land line.

P.S Anyone experiencing this issue - Please go the route of phoning in to Telkom and/or physically going to their stores, it will save you a couple of weeks hassle.

Hi, reply a bit late but maybe it will help. Use the tracking number but leave out the A at the end. Had the same issue.

I applied on 28 June online. Checked my status now and again and middle July status said: "Enjoy you new Telkom Product:)" and also stated landline telephone number. Have not seen or heard from any Telkom call centre or technician and don't have a line yet though.
After phoning 10210 and 10213 many times and speaking to different operators, not one of them have the same answer.
Some say job is completed and that's that, some say application not on system, some say application cancelled because they realized to late that the landline number allocated on my order was still in use by someone else.
I asked for debit order on the 15th of each month, So I can bet your bottom dollar they will take my money on the 15th August, because the order on the online system says it has been completed.
