Telkom/Openserve has not doubled my speed since 1 March 2021

I am an existing Telkom/Openserve customer for the last 30 months.

For the first 10 days of March 2021, my line speed went from 20mbps to 50mbps. From around the middle of the month, I notice that my speed is now 25mbps.

I called 10213 and the say that if I want a speed upgrade, then I will have to pay.

What should I do?

I think that they say the speed is up to 50, not guaranteed 50, so if the portal shows the account as 40-50, and your speed is 25, then there are other factors involved. hey may be asking you to upgrade from 50 to 100.

I just checked now, it does say 20-40. I am sure it said 20 previosuly. So yes, that is maybe how they getting around it. I can upgrade to 50mbps for the same price I am on at the moment (R699), but that is not their premium package. I will be subjected to half the line speed(25mbps) between 6pm-11pm.
