Dear All,

Is this normal?
Anyone know of method to motivate Telkom to have this done this year?

Line required in single-story brick building no more than 40 meters from Telkom exchange. {only a +- 1.6m fence as separation}

2018.05.14- Order placed
2018.05.16- Telkom confirmed order by txt message.
Rang +- once a week after placing order. Telkom reminded me they aim to install in 2 weeks post order.

Had been ringing Telkom nearly daily for past 2 weeks. Information provided on phone is inaccurate at best.

2018.06.08- Engineer attended site on Friday. {He rang me asking what the address is whilst driving there. Really!}
I rang him whilst he was onsite.
Feedback:There is no existing phone cable to the building.
Hmm, well I knew that 2 years ago.

The order state on website still show this:
2018.06.12-1000-Order status finally on website.jpg

A significant amount of time was spent trying to ascertain if some service other than xDSL was an option.
No reasonable options were available {I consider reasonable to be < 5k / month.

Expect the worst. I'm still trying to cancel a contract which has already ended.

lol, Telkom commercial Durban rang me this morning.

Sorry, we will not be able to install the service.
Hmm, but it is no more than 40 meters from the Exchange, it is a single story brick building with easy access, there is only a simple fence between Telkom and this building!

Sorry sir.

What a world Telkom lives in.
Man stepped onto the moon in 1969. It is the year 2018.
What am I missing?

Is there some sort of premium service once can pay for?
This where new installations can be dealt with without me having to ring Telkom for +- 20-30 minutes per day to ask for progress?

Lost motivation to ring Telkom when for the 5th day in two weeks, sorry the system is down, please ring later.
I rang 3 times on Friday, you really want me to believe the system is down all day in an organisation employing +- 19 000 persons?

Ran a report for time spent on the phone to "Telkom home", 6.5 hours since May 14.
Still no phone line, but, hmm, it was requested in easily accessible buildings +- 50 meters from Telkom Exchange. One building already have working Telkom phone lines and capacity.
I did try the twitter feed a day before, no reply.
This is a failure, had to cancel the order.

Cannot help but wonder what this had cost the South African economy in growth percentages per year.

Started the same request with Telkom business.
Received confirmation of order via sms in minutes.
We wait and see.

The good old "phone telkom, put them on speaker and read a book" situation.

Wait till they fk up you billing...
