Telkom just cannot tell the truth,........ (prices incl. VAT)

The entry level BRONZE Tower with Surfmore 10.

1. Actual Cost from Mecer for bundled computer incl. modem and monitor = R 4 105.80

2. At 10% interest bundled PC would be R 135.00 per month over 36 months.

3. Surfmore 10 incl. line rental and call answer and telkom internet = R 233.00

Adding 2. and 3. - The "cost" to Telkom = R 368.00 per month

Telkom's price for the lowest level entry level bundle = R376.16

So Telkom you not subsidising anything - but it's not a rip off, or is it ??

The bigger portion (62%) of the Telkom monthly charge is for internet access.

Surfmore provides 10 hours !!!! this equates to 20 minutes per day !!!!!

Buyers of this bundle are lured into a Telkom trap and when they go over 20 minutes
per day they are going to pay and they going to pay very dearly for a 56K modem internet access.

Overseas one could get everything in the Bronze bundle but with unlimited broadband all for the same price -
but most importantly - NO TRAP.

Buyers Beware !!!

The point is that the previous news article was a pure lie and in typical mybroadband fashion everyone on these forumns ignored it when i posted the real figures for the high end gold package.

Gold option costs:

790.96 x 36 months = R28 474.56

Buying the package normally costs:

R359 x 36 + 249 x 36 = R21 888 (R249 a month for 3 gig Std and R359 for homedsl384)

Difference:

R28 474.56 – R21 888 = 6 586.56

Im glad that moneyweb is at least impartial enough to slam the SMME forumns on doubling the figure to R12 000 and at least some people still care about the truth over ranting about telkom.
