Johannesburg - Frustrated South African consumers, led by the Telecommunications Action Group (TAG), will publish an advert in a national newspaper calling for the reform of the telecommunications sector in the country on Friday.
The full page advert is to highlight the cost of telecommunications in South Africa.

"We took this action because as consumers we are tired of the exorbitant costs of telecommunications in South Africa and the poor service from Telkom," TAG founder Alastair Otter said in a statement on Tuesday.

You know I read the title on news24 then saw its just well an ad. Now in the US it might work but I think in SA Telkom will just release a counter ad and then shrug it off as per norm. :(

*shakes his fist at the stupid gov officials*

My only gripe is that most people who read the M&G are probably already aware of the situation. In order for this to work they should have targeted the more uninformed market.

I think almost everybody's probably aware of the situation, the problem is the people that are aware of it and can change it, i.e. ICASA/Govt don't care.
