Telkom poor Management (scheduled appointment no show)

On Thurday at 14:57, I receive my sms from telkom "Dear Customer, your installation for order (141140549) is scheduled for (20160517 between 07:30:00 and 16:00:00). If not convenient blah blah blah"

Today 17/05 at 15:49 I receive another sms saying, "Dear Customer, your installation for order (141140549) is scheduled for (20160520 between 07:30:00 and 16:00:00). If not convenient blah blah blah"

On Thursday I organize a day off from work on the 17/05(today).

We all know how bad Telkom's service is, poor the management is and how they can waste your time. How should I go about this? When will I ever get my line installed. Who is to say they won't reschedule again if I organize another day off?

Is telkom completely useless?

This can happen sometimes when the engineer gets stuck on a particularly tricky install and can't make it to your scheduled appointment. Unfortunately it's not something they can really help, I had it with my installation recently as well.

What they did in my case was prioritized my install for the second appointment, so the engineer was 100% certain to be at me. I don't know if that's the regular practice though.

Suggest you call in and see if they can shed some light or apply some priority to your order.

I did however save the number of the person who installed my line the previous time. I phoned her and she said that she might be able to come tomorrow morning and help me. So Ill see. Ill send her another sms saying I will tip her well for it.

I would not say that they are completely useless particulary when it comes to new installations. bullzeye's suggestion is good. Call-in and get a confirmed appointment over the phone and you should be prioritized. Then again, its who you know that counts and if you can get it sorted sooner than later, give your connection a call.

I did PM Telkom back with the info requested info. Hope to hear back from you soon as they were suppose to show up today again and did not. As they said that it is a full day appointment.
