OKay I know this isn't for ADSL stuff but I think it's nice to have something like this as feedback last night I found out my ISDN bit the dust and I called Telkom(expecting the worst) I get told that isdn is a diffrent department and they transferred me .. .the first time the phone just rang so I called again and this time got through to who I needed they gave me a refrence number and told me they'll call me back... about an hour later the techy calls me and says 8am the next morning... I'm all smiles. 8am comes.. nothing happens 9am nothing then the isdn starts working and YES the other one to I get a call asking if they are working I say yes :) It took them only and hour to fix the problem and only a night to process the work Thank you telkom for saving my weekend :)

Regards

WOW. You really are lucky. I am still waiting for someone to call me about my line! I was told on friday someone would call me the same day.

Live for the today...

After 3 days on the phone, I am still waiting for a Telkom consultant to phone me back regarding a new business installation for a client. Switchboard etc.

You really are lucky to have such excellent service!

Putting the words Telkom and Service next to each other is what is termed an Oxymoron. They don't deserve to be in the same paragraph let alone the same sentence [:D]

Wotcha Noone and the rest,

ADSL ordered 13th Feb and am up and running today (19th).
Had to dig holes and prevent the techie from leaving and calling the "cable guys". Opened every manhole in the complex and now know exactly where my cable goes till it leaves the complex.

The techie was very helpful and happy to have this crazey wannabee ADSLLuser ripping open holes all over the show.

I think the main problem is there is a comms problem (funny seen as they are a global telco, according to them !) between the "Help" desk and the techies. Info gets lost or not captured at all.

Firstly I think the service probs are City and/or Department significant. In my experience some of the digital guys are doing well in some towns and in others the PABX guys are. In some areas all of the departments are doing their jobs. I also think the prob in most cases is the affirmative bug and also the lazy fools who just don't give a damn as long as they get paid at the end of the month.. and also their preveleges.

I must say the service that Telkom offer in Durban North for ISDN and ADSL is and always has been top notch.
When you lodge a complaint at 21:40 and by midnight they at your door - eish you cannot get better.

I can also just say that I had a ISDN line problem the other day (or rather night) @ 1:00am. Phoned them that morning at that time and the techie was there at 2:00am on a Sunday Morning. Now that is dedication.

The biggest problem is the people answering the phone being to lazy to book the calls properly so these dedicated individuals can do their work.

We use ISDN at work as well and there the service is not so great. So it seems that this is area specific. Some areas good service. Others long delays.
